Which white?

Sorry I keep asking questions... Hopefully one day I'll be able to repay with answers!

I'm thinking ahead about color schemes. I thought it would be pretty simple - white on top and something else on the hull. But I see Brightsides has 6 shades of white. Only the Mediterranean White looks truly white, but I don't want a real bright white as I think it will throw off too much glare. I searched through the forum but I don't see what specific white builders have used. I'd be interested to see which specific colors you have used along with a picture (or link) to your boat. Thanks!

I use Interlux Brightsides 4359 White. It is a bright white.

I’ve sailed my Pocketship in the strong Central Florida sunlight since late 2016 and have not had any issues with glare.

I used that same white. I added a little bit of flattening agent to the topside paint to knock down the sheen a bit...a 1:6 flattening agent to paint ratio worked out about right. For the higher-wear areas(cockpit and footwell decks), I knocked it all the way down to a semi gloss (1:1 ratio).

I also used the #4359 Just Plain White, mostly because CLC stocked it. It looks very nice; it seems to have a lot of depth.
On a Skerry I made a few years ago, I used #4381 "Off White", which I think looks better on a more traditional-style boat.

Thanks all! The color charts on CLC and Interlux seem to show (to my partially color blind eyes) only the Matterhorn as a true white. The others seem to have a distinct yellow tinge, but on your blogs the color looks much more white. Anyway I like what you have done, so I think I'll follow suit.

Steve, I had the same question regarding which white to choose. I settled on Interlux Brightside Polyurathane Off White #Y4381. It's too early in my build to show pictures. I do plan to white tip the spars, but I'm just getting started. I choose the off white to enhance the old world look of PS. I felt the off white might blend better with bright work.
