CB Inspection Port Question

Postby Hooky on Tue Feb 08, 2022 8:52 pm

I’m currently assembling the CB case and I have cut out the 6” hole for the inspection port. I decided after reading previous posts to relocate the opening forward so as to provide access to the CB pendant hole and knot and better access to the CB sheave. I have a question, is it really necessary to have two inspection ports on either side of the CB case? The single opening seems to provide adequate access.
Cheers Terry
Also for those interested I’m attempting to record the build on a Blog see below for the link

Hooky,

Based on Tom Graham's advise, I also relocated my inspection port for access to the uphaul line and sheave. I only installed one 5" port. I'm sure others will also have good ideas.

Best,

Thanks For the advise Brent, I’m about to glue the second side of the CB case so I will leave it at one inspection port. I ordered two and can use the second one for the Bow tow eye inspection cover.
PS I like your idea of widening the cockpit foot well area, as I am building from plans I can modify the cut out size
Cheers mate
