Glassing panels way ahead of install. Issues?

About to start my build and thinking through the schedule. Because of space, one of the first things I’d like to do is join all my panels and glass the sides that are specified to be glassed prior to install. I’ll hand the pieces on the wall until install.

But…install could be a few months given the time available to work.

Epoxy will continue to cure for weeks.

Does anyone think I could be running into a problem installing them so long after glassing? I’m wondering if flexibility could be an issue.

And again, I’m only talking about glassing the sides specified by the manual. Insides of Sides and Topsides I believe it is.

Probably you should defer the final sanding until you are about to install the panel (and clean off the panel just before sanding it).

Doug, is this suggestion for purpose of avoiding dings and scratches that might occur while 'stored'?

Really just to ensure that any glop that gets on the panels during storage does not cause problems.

Hello! The docs say epoxy cures in about 24 hours depends on temperature. Further time will not affect the stiffness. I plan to follow the same plan at the end of May - cut and fiberglass the panels, then assemble the cradles.

That's what I did. Once I set up the cradle and keel, there was no space left to work on the hull panels. The glassed hull bottom and lower sides stayed on my living room floor for a couple of weeks, and the upper sides spent
several months on my workshop floor, getting walked on.
