Centerboard

The plans call for the centerboard to be made of 2 pieces of 9mm (3/8") glued together. Anyone see any problem with making the centerboard from just a single piece of 18mm (3/4")?

G’Day mate,
Using two 9mm pieces allows easy rebating the slot for the lead section. I also think two 9mm pieces laminated together give a much stronger and straighter centreboard, just my thoughts.
Cheers mate
