Cabin Deck Glassing

I’m almost ready to install the cabin top deck and considering glassing the underside for additional strength.
What’s everyone’s thoughts on this

I did. It was also one of the few areas I had good luck using peel ply.
That deck will be stepped on a lot and I think it could use extra stiffness.

No, we did not glass the underside. To my knowledge it is not glassed with PS #1 and John Harris did not break through the roof yet. I don't believe it is necessary as the companionway hood will add stiffness.

If you really feel like glassing the underside of some deck, the front portion of the main deck (between the companionway and the front of the footwell) needs it the most. You will be stepping on it constantly, and it has no curve to add stiffness.
That's what I did.

Well I’m happy to report that the cabin top is installed. Glassing the underside presented no difficulties at all bending the ply cabin top into place. Using the 4 location posts and three ratchet straps to pull the cabin top down prior to screwing it in place. For a detailed description and pictures check out the Blog
