Painting the centreboard?

Postby SMHolmans on Mon Apr 08, 2024 2:18 pm

Quick question.
I've got my centreboard out of the boat for maintenance and I'm wondering if it's worth repainting it.
Views welcome!

There is no pretty a sight than a nice shiny painted centreboard when your heeling on a stiff wind, so for the benefit of any boats near by I suggest painting the centreboard.

Sailboats tend to become slower if heeling a lot. I'd rather reduce the sail area instead of painting the centreboard. Moreover, centreboards tend to suffer and the shiny pretty look won't last for a long time.
