Hello,
I am starting the floorboards on my pocketship.
Just wondring if anyone can tell me if the width can be 1" instead of 3/4"?
I have started planning the rough Beech and have if nice and smooth and it is still 1"
Is there any reason I cannot install 1" boards?

thanks,

Cliff

It should be fine...except for the extra weight....

I just want to be sure there is no reason structurally that 1"
will be too thick for anything else that comes later in the project. From what I read the extra weight would be a good thing.
Thanks Pascal for your reply. I have looked at your blog.....your boat looks great!
Anyone else have any ideas?

Cliff

The actual thickness shouldn't cause any construction problems later. The prefinished heartwood teak I used was not 3/4" and there were no problems.
