So I'm a relative newbie to trailer sailing, and I'm looking for any tips or contraptions that people may have on their trailer that makes it easier to get the boat back on. Getting it in the water is no problem, but I almost always have a hell of a time getting it back on. Yesterday I bent one of my bunks and put a small scratch on the bow (easily fixable stuff) but it took us about 5 tries to get the keel lined up on the trough properly even using the hand winch. Any suggestions?

I use 2x6(special treated lumber and cover with carpet ) to create a U shape channel on the bottom of the trailer and I did not have any trouble...I only went out 7 times so I may get in trouble soon but so far it works fine. I always make sure the boat is as straight as I can before bringing it in....hope this help.

I stand on the trailer and use the bow sprit to line up and guide the stem of the boat into the centerline bunk. When she's "in the groove" I snap the hook onto the bow eye and haul away. See my line with pixs on my trailer setup.
