would it be okay to lay down a final coat of epoxy and NOT finish with paint or varnish in areas of the boat where sun will not be a factor and/or are not exposed (eg beneath the floorboards/areas where floatation foam will be) ? Just looking to save time and get sailing! cheers

I've always thought it OK. An advantage is that it is easier to then glue (I.e., epoxy) things to surfaces under the floors. I plan to glue boards restricting the movement of the ballast in case of a knockdown. Pete McCrary

I didn't finish the watertight compartment in the bow. From a personal satisfaction point of view, I'd still sand and paint the areas under the cabin sole. In the context of how long the whole boat takes, it won't add that much time. By the time you are on the water, you'll be glad you spent a couple of "extra" days getting the details right.
