Hi Jon:

Another great wooden boat get-together is the Small Reach Regatta held every summer by Woodenboat Magazine in Lamoine State Park, Maine. About 50 small boats of all shapes and sizes; mostly built by amateurs. Family oriented; not a race; plenty of support and very well organized. This year's event is from July 18-22 so it's probably to late to enter but here's a link in case anyone would like to get on their contact list for the 2013 event: http://www.smallreachregatta.org

Woodenboat Magazine also operates a very nice school boatbuilding school nearby in Brooklin, Maine. My wife and I took a strip planking course there last summer. Had a wonderful time and learned a lot.

Although my Pocketship will probably not launch until spring 2014, I'd be happy to help organize a Pocketship gathering here in the northern Chesapeake Bay area close to where I live. Chesapeake Light Craft is just south of me in Annapolis so they may want to get involved also.

Regards to all,

Hi Pascal:

Many thanks for the invite! Sounds great. I've been looking forward to seeing your rig. Will Tatoo be part of your gang?

What time do you estimate your arrival in Rock Hall on Friday? I can be there around mid/late afternoon Friday, the 18th. My son and I have our spring cub scout camping trip that Saturday/Sunday so gotta pass on the weekend.

Be sure to share photos from your Rock Hall meetup!

I saw a couple of pictures of PocketShip and Naoned at OkoumeFest on CLC's Facebook. Any other photos?

Photos--Pocket Yacht Palooza

Postby MartyLoken on Fri Jun 08, 2012 2:09 pm

Thanks for plugging our recent Pocket Yacht Palooza...and, yes, I wish somebody in the Northwest had brought a PocketShip to the event.

Here's a link to photos of the first-ever Palooza:

http://www.pocketyachters.com/Port_Town ... looza.html

The second annual Pocket Yacht Palooza will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21, 2013, once again at the Northwest Maritime Center in Port Townsend, WA. The public show will be Saturday, and participants will go for a sail together on Sunday...so please mark your calendars (if you even have 2013 calendars at this point!), and please bring any PocketShips that exist in our corner of the world.

Thanks,

Marty Loken, Port Townsend Pocket Yachters - www.pocketyachters.com
