Howdy, mates,
I am a new member of the forum, considering building a PS. Live in sunny Florida. Never built a boat, but have been a "house carpenter" with the usual tools around. No experience at all with fiberglass or epoxy.
I have a one-car garage, nominally 12x24, with walls inside that and the usual shelves and junk. Next to that is a 5x20 room. I could knock out about 14 feet of the wall between, towards the front door, if I have to. Anyone have a opinion on whether this sounds like enough room? I could pour a slab in front of the garage door and roll the boat in and out some or roll the table or band saw in and out to minimize dust. I figure I need a 16 foot table for scarfing , layout, and cutting long pieces. Inside, or could this be done outside?
Ideas?
Bob G

Hi Bob, I'm currently building mine in a 10x20 e-z up type cover with a 4x16 work table next to it. I have just enough room to move around the sides. It works ok. I'm fortunate that all this is taking place in a friends 35,000 sq ft. shop but I promised him I wouldn't take any more space. Go for it.

The space you have is great.
I am building my PocketShip from plans in a 10'x17' space.
My plans are to build the keel (completed), then to splice the panels on the floor and cut them out, and finally to then build the support frame and start assembling.
Regards,
Hendrik

I just finished my 16' x 24' shop, complete with cable TV and wireless internet. I have my plans and the plywood on hand and will begin construction on my Pocketship soon.
