I just gather them up in the sail ties that are keeping everything else under control.

I have been contemplating lazy jacks. They would make things easier when lowering the sail, but worse when lowering
and raising the mast...

I added lazy jacks, but ran the reefing lines outside of them, without really thinking things through. Makes sense to have them held up by the lazy jacks. I've only tried these systems out in the driveway, and only a couple of times. I'm convinced the reefing will help, but I'll have to see about the lazy jacks. It is a lot of extra lines. One thing I did do was I added a couple of hooks down by the gooseneck, so when I want to get the lazy jacks out of the way, I can run them along the boom, around the hook, then up the mast. Then they don't contribute as much to the spaghetti when the mast is lowered.
