keel blocking confusion

I have my 2nd coat of epoxy curing on the centerboard as I type this and am moving onto the keel blocking. But the manual and photos don't seem to be very clear as to what I should be doing. It doesn't help that the kit diagram doesn't label the keel blocking; I'm assuming it is the long pattern above the gaff pattern, as well as the small vertical pattern just above it? But could be wrong...

Anyway, the lumber requirement is 1.5" x 5.25" x 8 ft. The manual calls for up to 2" thick for the middle vertical block.

Any advice on how to proceed?

Turns out I'm missing plans! With a kit, they're mostly not needed, but in a couple rare instances, they are. And this is one of those rare instances. Hopefully they get here soon.
