New Pocketship on the Chesapeake Bay

"Duck Boat" was built in Portland, OR (hence the name & paint scheme - waiting to see if it grows on me), then was donated to the Sea Scouts and subsequently put up for sale. I had her shipped across the country and now she lives in Baltimore. I'd love to do some sailing with other Pocketships this summer if schedules allow and I'm looking forward to using some of the ideas in this forum to make her a little cozier. :-)

Can we see pictures of your boat ? A Pocketship get together would be really nice....timing is a problem. We had beautiful days the past few week and I did get the time to take Naoned on the water....I think there is now 4 completed Pocketship in the Chesapeake area.Lets hope we can get them all the water together...

If you get tired of that boat, I'm sure there's someone in Wisconsin willing to buy it. The colors scream Packers.

Okoumefest is coming up - bring her along! I'm hoping to see 2-4 PocketShips that weekend.

That paint scheme is noticeable, isn't it? ;)

I'm planning on attending Okoumefest; first I have to make sure she was finished properly and sort out the rigging - doesn't look like the sails have ever been used. The only thing missing was the manual; ordered that from CLC yesterday.

I'm planning on launching my Pocketship next summer (2014) on the Gunpowder river; northern Chesapeake Bay. Just stitching the hull panels on now.....

Good luck.

kahless,

I'm planning a short excursion to Rolph's Wharf Marina and River Inn Bed & Breakfast from Wednesday, September 11 to Friday . My wife (Anna) and I will put up at the Inn and I'll sail Tattoo at times during the day. The slip fees are discounted (by half, I think) for those registered at the Inn. They have a nice boat ramp at the marina. The Chester River is very nice and Chestertown is just a short distance away. Check out my posts which describe many of the modifications that I have made for comfort and safety.

Hi Pete:

My son, James, and I have plans to crab the Chester river during the time you're there. We usually put in at Rolph's and would love to see your Tatoo. I'll try and visit; introduce myself. Good luck.

Jimmy Vitale,..
Sorry, but we have had to cancel our mini vacation on the Chester River. Maybe we'll meet up some other time with our PocketShips.

Pete:

Understood. Perhaps take a rain check in the future; don't hesitate to let me know if you need a mate for a cruise one day. I'm just north of Baltimore and have a flexible schedule.

Hope all is well.
