Dave, for some reason I have missed the blog for about 6 months, and didn't realise that you had launched your Pocketship. Welcome to the Aussie fleet! (of 2...., I think). Looks a beauty, and must say, the lack of the boom gallows doesn't hurt. Shame we're on the opposite sides of the continent, otherwise we could compare our build solutions. As you might know, I fabricated a marine alloy tabernacle so that I could fold it down easily for storage of the boat in my garage. That lasted about two months (derigging and rerigging), so Sandpiper is know living on the street with a tarp over it, none the worse for it. My previous problem with a sticky centreboard has now become a fully stuck centreboard, so I'm going to have to lift the boat with a gantry in a couple of weekends to try and find out what's going on. I originally thought it was because I antifouled the centreboard, but now I'm wondering if something else has happened. Anyway, nothing serious, and even sailed it last week, even though it didn't point very well!

Cheers,
Bob Fuller
