June 2014 Photo and Video Shoot

Postby John C. Harris on Tue Jun 10, 2014 9:05 am

Grabbed an afternoon on June 5th to shoot some new photos and videos of old PocketShip #1. If you missed them on CLC's Facebook page, here's the link:

A lot of great photos by Matt Cordrey.

We also got a bunch of video, including:

Solo setup, launching, and retrieval at the ramp
Basic rigging
A solo set (and jibe!) of the spinnaker
Reefing while under way

We'll get that video posted as soon as my professional video editor, who's also my lovely wife and the mother of my daughter, has a chance to work on it!

Video editing seems more important than parenting, so tell your wife to step on it and get those videos edited! haha just kidding. Seriously though, the pictures are beautiful (especially the one of you heeled so far over!!), and can't wait to see the videos when they are released.

I was browsing through the pictures and noticed that you have set up a jiffy rigging system. It looks like you have the first reef tack cringle set up to cleat separately to the tabernacle, and the reef clew has it's own separate outhaul block and cleat. Neat. I might make a similar modification on my boat.
