Thanks for a great site and all the to all the contributors over the years. I have spent the last couple of weeks reading all the post in anticipation of build problems, getting great ideas and inspiration for my own PocketShip.

My kit is ordered and will be shipped sometime the last week of this month. In the mean time I did start by laminating some wood for a tiller. Thanks to an old post on this forum I was able to get the shape and dimensions to get started.

Besides hunting for lead and cleaning the shop, I started a blog http://pocketshipyard.blogspot.com The links I have found on this forum have led me to some great blogs and I wanted to contribute. Right now there is not much to see without even getting my kit yet but hopefully in the not too distant future there will be pictures of me sailing in the Corpus Christi bay in a finished PocketShip.

Here is a few of images of my tiller...or as I like to refer to is as my 'Yacht Club".

Thanks again,
John

Welcome, and congrats on the build. I look forward to reading your blog as the boat comes together. The manual really does a nice job walking you through every step. I am building from plans and have just finished preparing the cabin for paint. I'm sure you're read it a million times, but it bears repeating here: be as clean and careful as you can with the epoxy fillets. They are a bear to sand, and being in the edges of the the boat, a power sander can't easily help you.

Good luck building!
