Floorboard lift out location

The plans show the floorboard lift out sections as being between floors 4 & 6. However, the photo on page 100 appears to show the lift out sections between floor 5 & bulkhead 7. What gives?

Personal preference? Or split the difference and span all three for more storage space. That's what I did.

I have four lift out areas. One forward of the centerboard trunk, one on either side spanning 3 bays, and one aft of the centerboard trunk to provide access to my thru hull back there. I forget what floors but it's pretty obvious when looking at the sole.

While there's a structural component to these -- you definitely want to keep most of them -- two planks across and two or three bays long will be fine. It's personal preference and the out-of-sight storage will come in handy, especially during those overnight trips.

I put a lift out in the floor just forward and in line with the center board trunk. Good thing, 'cause when water is dumped in the bilge (testing), that's where it ends up, and it's the right place for an automatic bilge pump. Carlyn J has an automatic bilge pump, but the bilge has stayed dry.
