Height on Trailer...

Postby John in CC on Tue Feb 17, 2015 10:26 pm

What is the approximate height of the tabernacle or I should say the highest point of the boat from the ground when the boat is on a trailer. I realize there will be a bit of variation in this measurement depending on the trailer set up. I am just trying to get an idea for garage clearance. Thanks!

I'm curious to hear people's experiences. I think my trailer is higher than average... (and maybe my garage is low??? Shouldn't they be standardized?), but the cabin roof is pretty close to the garage door. Tabernacle must absolutely be removed. I didn't use a boom gallows, but that would need to be removed too (since it's at the same height as the tabernacle). I unbolt the tabernacle and mast, swing the tabernacle forward (still attached to bowsprit), then remove my mast support pole (replacement for boom gallows) and rest the mast on the transom skirt. More setup than I'd like but I don't want to leave the boat outside.
