Jerry's PocketShip at the WoodenBoat Festival

Postby John C. Harris on Thu Sep 17, 2015 9:40 am

A gigantic thanks to Jerry for bringing his PocketShip, "Carlyn J," to the WoodenBoat Festival in Port Townsend last weekend. The boat was a big hit and I heard compliments being showered on his work for three straight days. And how well-deserved! I'm not a fan of adornment or affectation, but Jerry's tweaks and details were beautifully executed and extremely flattering to the design. I liked everything he did, but the interior in particular must be among the most elegant I've ever seen in a pocket cruiser. I am jealous.

Truly a beautiful boat. I'm in awe of the workmanship every time I look at her!

I'm also jealous of the brass fittings. I was given a few by my grandfather that I've gladly incorporated onto my boat, but the lamp and fitting on the bowsprit are really fantastic here.

Thanks for sharing. A very nice looking boat. Something for me to strive for as a soon to be new builder.

Jerry:

Just beautiful; many congratulations. (However, I am getting a bit of an inferiority complex...) Thanks for all your advice on the forum too.
