New Pocketship Video

Hey Guys,
I bought a new video editing program and don't have any experience using it, so I figured I better learn. It seems there are no videos of the interior of a pocketship out there so I did one.

I'll be shooting a lot of video during the Texas 200 so if you are interested in seeing video of that, you can subscribe so alerts will sent when the new content is available. It is my first try at editing I hope by the time I edit the Texas 200 stuff I'll be good enough to hold an audience. :D

I like the video and I hope you do post lots of your adventures on the texas 200 (and beyond!).

And I don't want to hijack your video post, but I like the remounting bracket on the transom. Have you used it yet? We do a lot of swimming and my.... ahem.... larger friends have trouble getting back in the boat by climbing up the rudder. Any opinions about the best height and how far from the rudder to mount it?

Thanks John for the video!

I am also curious to the remounting bracket?

Also, what size Yeti cooler do you have? I have been looking At them some, but don't want to buy something too big. How did they work for you as far as keeping things cold?

The Yeti is a 45. They are really heavy! The Texas 200 is 5 days and it will keep ice that long. The walls are really thick which cuts down on capacity.

Like the cooler the remounting bracket step thing has not been used yet. I figured I would mount it above the water line and where I could access the nuts to the bolts from the lazaretto. It was really a guess with a lot of thought. Hope it works.

I will have some Texas 200 videos for sure. My daughter won a GoPro in a photo contest. I have some brackets where I can mount it in multiple places and try to get some really interesting shots. I really need to practice my editing before then. The program can do so much. I have a lot to learn for sure!

That's a really interesting video. Lot's of great ideas. What's the make of that big black fan? Looks rugged.

Very nice - great video.

I saw that you have very nice seat cushions in the cockpit - are those custom made?

I am just putting my Pocketship in the water in about a month - I hope to run the Texas 200 next year :)

The seat cushions come from C Cushions. They are really top quality, very durable and float too! They are vinyl coated foam rubber. It is like what the old drink cozies were made of. I was lucky, because they are made about 45 minutes from where I live and was able to sit down and talk to the owner. I got a tour of the shop where they are made too.

You still have 63 days! I was finished (more or less), only a week before the start of last year's Texas 200 and made the start! Come on down! The Pocketship is a great boat for the event.

Thanks for the info - I am going to drop your name (John, with Candy-O) in my inquiry with C Cushions. Hope you don't mind :)

Thank for the encouragement - I will consider doing the 200 this year - my brother lives in Houston area - I would make that my base of operation. The real issue is that with the distance from my home (in a suburb of Chicago) I will need a full 2 weeks to transport down there, run in the 200, and then transport back.

By boat name is "El Sea Bien" - "The Good Sea" in very loose Spanglish - but really named after my 4 children's first initials (L, C, B, and N)-

I will christen it the last weekend in April - and post my final pictures in the forum (with my personal customizations to the final product) after the christening.
