I've noticed that at least a couple builders have installed in or thru mounted transducers. I'd like to do that too in order avoid the visible wires that go with a transom mounted transducer. I'm wondering how the in hull transducers have been installed. Will the signal pass through the 1/4" plywood bottom or must a hole be cut and filled? Any advice would be appreciated.

I did one on mine and I positioned mine almost in the same spot. It really has worked well and I almost forget it is there until I fire up my GPS and see the fish finder and depth displayed.

To install it I watched a few youtube videos where I picked up a few tricks...mainly how to keep all the sealant off the wires and all over everything else for that matter. It can be pretty messy if you are not careful. Read the instructions and be ready for a giant pucker factor when drilling a massive hole in your hull!
