Guide bunks

I was at Academy Sports the other day and found these relatively inexpensive ($114) guide-on bunks for my trailer: http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/ce-smith-company-carpeted-bunk-board-style-guide-ons-2-pack?repChildCatid=13236 They are a big help in a cross-wind and the boat always slips into place in the center of the keel trough (or keel rollers in my case).

I mounted the support stanchions on top of the trailer frame to get the bunks up as high as possible.

Hi Dana,

Can you post a photo of the completed installation at some point? That would help me visualize the set-up. I'm a long way off from a trailer, but I'm hoping to order one and assemble it later this summer.

Thanks,
Mark Nunlist

As requested, here is a picture of the starboard guide bunk. I mounted it as far aft as the wheel framing would allow:

Here is a closeup of the fwd clamp, showing the support stanchion mounted on top of the trailer frame:

Nice! I am going by academy tomorrow to see if they stock them. I had problems one day loading the boat this would have really been nice. I hate clogging up the boat ramp. Fishermen act like they never have seen a sailboat before : )

Thanks for sharing!
