All set for the Texas 200

Postby John in CC on Tue Jun 07, 2016 12:33 pm

I have Candy-0 out of the shop and on the trailer ready for this year's Texas 200. I have made a lot of improvements in the areas of comfort that I learned needed to be addressed after last year's 200. We start sailing next Monday and will finish up Saturday if all goes well.

I will be doing a lot of video during the trip and will post on Youtube when I get the edits done. I will post a link here.

I am anticipating participating next year - I have a few kinks to work out on my boat before I tackle a body of water like the Gulf.

I will be very interested to see what you post - I have a little convincing to do still - some of the people who care abut me are convinced it is just too dangerous an undertaking - I need to put them at ease with some great video :)

Wishing you are great week of great weather and sailing!

We don't go out in the Gulf. We stay pretty much in the ship channels inside the barrier islands with an occasional bay to cross. If things were to get bad weather wise it would be easy to stop and wait things out. The shore is not too far away. The danger mostly comes from not being prepared for the sun and the heat.
