Wider footwell?

Is it possible to make the footwell wider? Would it cause any issues?

This has been mentioned by several people. I have never considered it narrow, and I wear a size 10 shoe, which fits just fine. Widening it would be simple if you were cutting your own plywood, but if using the kit you would need to manually cut the bulkheads and cockpit pieces, and somehow splice on an extension to the footwell floor. Seems like a lot of work to me for not much gain. As far as space in the cabin, widening it would eat into your "feet" area but wouldn't be too noticeable if you only added a couple of inches. Too far, and you would make it awkward to lay down in the cabin.

On my Pocketship Perfecto, I widened the foot well by 2" and glad did. Still plenty of room down below. I also stretched the length by 1' and extended the cabin as well. You can see my YouTube video search Pocketship Perfecto to see this boat under construction. It sails like a dream!
