I'm about to strike my waterline. In the manual, John mentions that he put his at 16.5 inches above the bottom of the keel. I'm ready to do the same, but wonder if people are generally satisfied with the position of their waterlines. Any pitfalls to avoid?

Yep... I put the waterline right where John mentions. I used a laser level and it worked out to be almost exact. My boat rides empty about an 2 inches below that line.
