Centerboard problems fixed...

The centerboard problem that caused my exit of last weeks Texas 200 was an easy fix and something that might help current and future builders. The inspection covers have a lip that protrudes a little too far into the centerboard trunk. The centerboard will fit in between them with a slight rub, but that rub is just enough to slow the board down from dropping. I popped off the plates and everything was nice and smooth.

Problem #2 - The knot in the pendent line moved about 1-1/2 inches. I guess as thing tightened and settled in (maybe a bit of stretch) the knot moved letting the centerboard down a bit farther than designed. I set the centerboard in place while up in the air off the stand and pulled the pendent line taught. I made a mark on the line. When I measured to the mark with the centerboard up It was 28" just like the manual calls for. For current Pocketship owners I suggest remeasuring the pendent line after use.

While being able to get under the boat I did a little maintenance with some epoxy. The bottom was in a lot better shape than I had anticipated but this was too good of an opportunity to get at it, so I took advantage.

Took the pocketship over to a friend's garage and we were able to engineer this rig...

All good news John. Thanks for the explanation as I will check mine for the same interference and possible future CB line stretch.
