I totally agree with having lift out floor boards. Just back from a weekend cruise, and accidentally left the top of the gallon water jug a bit loose. Woke up to a light gurgling sounds - not what you want to hear in the morning! Just glad it wasn't a leak as I had feared. Anyhow, being able to easily access underneath made for an easy clean up.

I was recently doing some long-deferred work in the cabin. Stainless steel fasteners were involved. Every time another stainless washer or teeny screw slipped out of my hands and slid down between the cracks in the cabin sole, I wished that I had a few more lift-out sections (I just did the ones that are in the plans). I think over the years, I probably had added 5 lbs of stainless steel ballast to the bilges of my boat.
