Hi all,

Just curious how many adults can fit into the cockpit of pocketship. Thanks.

This is just my opinion -

When I am sailing El Sea Bien - I like to have easy access to sit on either Port or Starboard, and quickly switch between when tacking. That allows me maximum control ,and the best visual of where I am heading.

So - optimum sailing for me allows for me in the back of the boat with the tiller, and 2 other adults on the cockpit - one seated port, one seated starboard - both as far towards the bow as they can (near or with their backs on the back of the cabin is perfect). Total of 3 adults.

I have done 4 adults - it is a little close quarters if things are going on, and severely limits my mobility - but 4 adults can fit - it is just not optimal.

I am planning to add a removable seat to the companionway over the coming winter (I have seen some nice design on other threads in this forum) that would make having 4 adults much more comfortable.

I've gone out with six (three on each side). Works especially well if you have someone sitting in the bow or in the cabin.
