We started a new blog about our Pocketship build and we have some thoughts on a different way to do the filleting and laminating. We'd be curious to see if anyone else has dome something similar.

Welcome and thanks for starting your blog. It is always nice to see how others do things. I have basically been following the manual, since I have no previous boat building experience. For the bow, I didn't have to heat it, but I did drill additional holes to use to help force it together. I also used a tie down strap, but would recommend being very careful with it. The ratchet can put too much pressure and break the wood. I did like your jig for the bow! I am at the point of starting to sand my fillets, so I could not use your method. I do plan to do what you' did to put the extra fiberglass tape on the joints. I will be following your blog for updates!
