Just thought I'd say hi from Tasmania (Yes, another Australian!). I just finished a stitch'n'glue canoe and think by the end I had the techniques worked out in preparation for something a little larger. The Pocketship is the first micro cruiser I have found with every base covered - well in the game I am playing anyway. Designers like Welsford, Bolger and Michalak all have something that works really well for the home builder but doesn't have the combined charm, accommodation, performance, trailerability and simplicity of the Pocketship (and it's 2 feet shorter than my canoe)- congratulations John!
Our Aussie dollar is abysmal compared to the Greenback at the moment so I may have to wait a little while before purchasing the plans....just hope they are still $199 when I take the plunge.

Good to have another Australian on board.
Even with the Australian dollar being low I think that the plan set is still good value consider the end result.

Your research on selecting Pocketship over other similar boats parallels mine. I second Hendrik, you will not find more comprehensive plans and instruction manual for the money. Technical questions to the designer are answered within 24 hours by email.

Ditto what Hendrik and Dave have posted. I am still very much at the 'dreaming' stage as I don't have the space or time to build BUT I will one day. And after much research both hard copy and internet John's PocketShip has the lot, so much boat for its size and so well thought out. And everyone is saying the plans and manuals are extensive and well done also.

What a great online boat building community.

I look forward to everyone's stories.
