Extra fiberglass or tape?

Postby riverron on Sun Oct 23, 2016 9:27 am

I am finishing up the interior fiberglassing and will be putting extra tape in the bow like the manual states. Did anyone put extra tape above the chines to add extra support for bulkheads 1, 2 and transom to connect against the side panels? I am thinking about it to offer extra support. Just curious to what others did.

Ron,
I used tape on all the bulkhead to side intersections. Forward and aft sides. I felt this small amount of extra work is worth the added strength. Also, if you tape over the fillets as they are setting up there very little finish effort in the corner.

Thanks Jeff. I agree, I think the added strength will be worth it with minimal work. The fillets are all completed, so I think I will do a scuff sand before applying.
