I purchased a can of Danish Oil, but there are no instructions on the can as far as Application instructions. I plan to use a brush to apply, but what would the minimum temperature need to be to apply? It's getting cold in Virginia, but I can get my garage to about 50+ degrees? Is that warm enough?

I'm just behind you in my build; putting on the cleats for the deck and footwell now. No experience with Danish oil but I just looked at some related websites. Seems 50-55 degrees is about the minimum; 70-75 degrees optimal - although opinions vary. It seems the issue is not so much the temperature at the time of application but that the drying time will be MUCH longer when the application is done when cold.
The humidity is a significant factor also. I'm up in Baltimore and it's 13 degrees right now; gonna try and build a small 'tent' in my garage so I can continue with epoxy thru the winter....Good luck.

Thanks Jimmy! I was just looking at the same website and found the 50 degree's minimum. I might have to wait till the temperatures warm up a little.

I live down the street in Richmond VA and it was about the same temperature this morning. I have been using the tent idea on the boat applying some epoxy to the cleats and that worked pretty good. I found a large roll of plastic on Amazon and with a single work light I could keep it above 50 degrees. I just laid 2 2x4s across the boat and used the clamps to hold the plastic in place. I need to put another coat on the cleats before sanding them.

I have plenty of other work to keep me busy, mainly "SANDING". I also still need to sand the floor boards with 120 before I can even apply the oil.
I worked about 3 hours yesterday sanding the interior and plan on more today.
