they sell the manual for $30 which can be applied to the purchase of the kit or full plans later. The detailed manual with all of its photos will give you a really good idea if this is a project you wish to tackle.

I totally agree with you Dave. This is the best way to go. I'll get the manual and find out if this project is for me or not. Buying the manual prior to anything else is an investment one has to make in order to understand and be sure - and not waste ones $$$$ and time.

When you get the manual don't be overwhelmed by its size. The instructions are very detailed but broken up into very manageable tasks.

If the weather cooperates I do hope to have more sailing pics and videos posted soon. Last weekend, the cottage lot was dry enough to pull out the boat but then some storm clouds rolled in and I had to push "So True" back into its garage. The next 2 days were too windy and choppy to go sailing for us novice sailors.

I'm new to this forum and new to boatbuilding. Your boat looks beautiful but as a novice I must ask this question- Are you building this from the kit or just from the plans. Your first pictures show pieces already cut and the wood grain is beautiful. I've ordered the manual (anxiously waiting) so I've not yet decided which route to go. I originally planned to build from scratch from the plans but seeing the beautiful wood made me pause. Any feedback and/or advice would be greatly appreciated

Jay, I chose to build from the kit because they do a great job at selecting plywood and an excellent job of CNC cutting. However their are a number of builders that are cutting their own plywood with great success. You can review their progress on this forum. The plans and assembly manual are very well written and easy to follow. Good luck and I hope you join the club. Jeff

I cut my own plywood on my Pocketship because shipping the kit to Canada was expensive and I could order the same kind of Okoume plywood locally. I estimate transferring the full size patterns and cutting the plywood added about 100 hours to my construction time. Plus there is a little bit more stress wondering if you transferred everything correctly and will it all fit together
