Pocket yard

Postby Arjen on Wed Jan 02, 2019 11:41 am

Hi all,

I am new here and did'n start to build yet. Important obstacle is my shop, the "pocket yard".
First of all I had to make space: get the 3 kayaks out and find another shelter for these. Second is to create an "epoxy"-suitable climate.
Explored a few options and came to an extra radiator in the system as solution. Now only have to insulate the (metal) garage door and then we can think of going to build

Hope to post (and ask) regularly in the future.

Regards
Arjen

Welcome Arjen! Lots of knowledgeable builders on here, so post any questions.
Also keep us posted on progress!

My attached garage is not heated, except for a small heater mainly for me. I use work lights often on small jobs/joints. I would suggest getting some of them. They help to concentrate the heat and work well!

Thanks for the tip Ron. I decided to insulate the garage door. Took me just one day. The rest of the Garage was allready insulated as were it livingspace. An extra radiator will come soon.

I have to do my glassing over here as well and I don’t know when that will be. Could winter again ;)

Hi Ariel,
My name is Terry from down under, I live on the south coast of New South Wales Australia which currently is summer and averaging 30 deg Celsius or 86 deg F each day. I was just reading your post and having a quiet laugh to myself, you describe the issue of warming your building when here on the other side of the world I struggle to work with epoxy quick enough due to heat and humidity.
I have purchased Pocketship plans and hope to commence building in a couple of months.
Good luck with your first obstacle I look forward to reading your progress.
Cheers mate Terry
