Forward sheer clamp positioning

I am fitting the forward sheer clamps and it seems I will need to position the clap about 5/8 inch above the upper side panel to align with the angle of the aft cabin wall for eventual positioning of the deck. Is this what any of you have experienced as well? Seems that not much will be holding to the side panel there.

Mike,
I am not sure which sheers strips you are talking about? Are these the ones on top of page 129 in the manual?
If so, I remember it having to sit up higher to allow you to use a plane to make the angle for the roof deck to fit.
All the sheer strips for the cabin roof deck will need to be installed a little higher and then planed to the correct angle.
Look ahead to pg. 163/164.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Thanks Ron,
Yes you are correct. These are the sheer clamps that go from the bow to the aft cabin bulkhead. I did expect some amount of positioning above the sides, just didn't expect so much. I made some changes to the position and was able to get it down maybe an 1/8th of an inch so guess that will have to do. Now it is above the side about 1/2 inch and I'll glue it in tonight.
