Mystery Pattern

There is one pattern in my kit (the circled one in the picture below) whose purpose I cannot figure out.
The diagram on page 24 calls it a "Companionway Slide Side Pattern", but that is definitely wrong.
(That pattern is the one just to the right of the tiller.)

Does anybody know what it is for? My hull assembly is mostly done, and I'd hate to have something left over. :-)

Is it the rudder leading edge? I didn't think that part really needed a pattern...
