Anchor Size

Good Afternoon,

What is the recommended anchor size for the Pocketship? The Danforth type seems to hold well where I am, although I am open to suggestions. Mostly sand or mud bottoms. I can get a 13 lbs Danforth cheap, but it seems way way too big.

Thanks.

I did some “research” before I bought mine.
The Danforth anchor is a popular one for a long time already. It is quite large indeed and good in (slushy) mud.
In sand I don’t know its performance.

The more modern anchors are usually more handy and a bit smaller. They also perform a bit better and are more multi purpose.
Look for example for a rocna or a delta anchor. I bought a delta anchor and the recommended size for the Pocketship is around 4 kg (9 pounds). This depends a bit on how and where you are going to use it. In high wind or current situations you’d better take one heavier (around 12 pounds)
