I'll add that I did not do any fiberglassing on my original tabernacle (which I made removable). It got damaged due to a large lateral force being accidentally applied at the tip of the folded mast, and basically developed a spilt that ran down the middle of my bolt holes. With the new tabernacle, I did glass the lower part of the back of the tabernacle, though not for strength or durablility, but on the loose theory that maybe it would help prevent a crack/split like that from developing/propagating in the event of a moderate recurrence fo the event that took out it's predecessor. I haven't applied any engineering thought to whether that makes any sense, just had some glass and slapped it on when I was encapsulating the tabernacle with epoxy.
