For those who have been sailing your pocketship for a while...would you take through Hellgate into NY harbor?

I am not an experienced sailor, but looking at some sailboats more than twice the size on youtube, I would not recommend!!!!
Looks too dangerous to me for a 15' sailboat. Just my 2 cents.

I was once walking along the riverfront on the Upper East Side, and the current in the river looked like it was going south at 5 MPH!
A kayaker was zipping right along. You would have to be well-aware of the tides you will encounter.
