Filler for fairing fillets etc?

Postby SMHolmans on Thu Nov 26, 2020 9:11 am

Hi all. Can anyone recommend a fairing compound? I've been using glass micro balloons, but it requires a lot of balloons to make a small amount of filler. Are there any proprietary or home made alternatives to obtain a good surface for painting?

Thanks!

I did use a product called” Total Boat Totalfair” in a few places where I just wanted to smooth out uneven spots . Mostly I just sanded the fillets until smooth or I just quit once I had enough of it. No fun working fillets.
As I got better at making fillets and using the smoothing technique with fingers, it definitely got a little easier.
Totalfair was easy to apply and sand smooth.
