My pocketship, Wild at Heart, launched and sailed for the first time this weekend in Port Jefferson harbor.
No real issues. Everything worked as expected. It was a very nice mellow sail in calm waters and 5-10 knots.
Sailed and handled well. Responsive and felt predictable. Looking forward to more time on the water in more conditions.
Lots of center-console fishing boats out and I think everyone on the boat ramp and on the water paused to pay complements to the look of the boat.
I did forget to put the CB inspection port covers on. So a little water got in down below.
The torqeedo worked great. It will take some getting used to the silence of it. It's quieter than the water slapping the hull.
I had purchased the kit in 2014. Built the keel right away and there it sat for 6 years.
Stopping work travel for Covid, decided to go ahead and get it done.
Had to build under a tent on a sloping gravel driveway.
So I cant attest that everything that should be is level, square and true.
But I did the best I could under the conditions. I'm very pleased with the result.
Great design John and thank you for all you and CLC do.
