Hello to all builders!
My build is still moving forward.
For me, gluing the deck was an important step. I did this a few weeks ago. The boat is now in its final form. When I unscrewed the temporary screws after gluing the deck, 6 heads broke off because the body of the screw was stuck in the epoxy. I remembered that someone wrote on his blog that you can heat the body of the screw with a soldering iron and this will help to unscrew the screw. It really works! I easily dealt with the problem. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly where I read this, but many thanks to this man for the tip!
I also installed a reinforcement on the BH2 where the tabernacle will be attached. I made it in two parts. The upper part is a board 20 mm thick, which also serves as a deck frame. Below I glued a piece of 9mm plywood. To do this, I had to remove the paint on BH 2, which I applied earlier.
Now I'm in the stage of fitting the seat backs. I decided to reverse the assembly sequence, since I really wanted to glue the deck first.
I also sawed off the side parts of the cradle. Now the boat is almost ready to go to sea )))

Well this is my first big plywood and epoxy job, I've never done anything like this before. My task in this project is to make "just a yacht" according to the drawings.

A few words about the seat backs and the rear of the cockpit.
I think the construction manual is confusing this point. Page 138 shows us that the stringers should go freely all the way. But page 140 says to glue wood blocks for the skirt. And there are no stringers in this photo.

As a result, I first glued the blocks, and then the outer (board) stringer, which docked with the block.
In the manual photo p.143, the block is very thin and the inner stringer rests only on the skirt. I took a ruler and saw that between the block and the inner stringer, the distance just corresponds to the thickness of the stringer. So I added a small piece between them and glued them together.
It's probably a good idea to make a skirt block sized to fit the top stringers together.
I also made this block longer at the back by about 1 cm and then trimmed it with sandpaper until it matched the profile of the skirt.
One more addition - I added a vertical support for the seat back in the aft. I think I also saw this on someone's blog.

Hello builders!
A short report on my progress. I completed the main hull assembly work and covered the cabin with fiberglass. That was a month ago. After that, sad changes took place in my personal life in my relationship with my wife, and now I do not feel the strength and inspiration to continue the project further. I think it will be frozen for a while.
Be attentive to those who love you and to those who are dear to you in life.

Let things settle and don’t make any big decisions. The boat will happily wait for you. I have found that my time working on the boat occupies my mind and gives me relief from the stresses we encounter in life. It’s one thing I have full control over.

Yes, it’s strange that problems with womens can so much stop such an important and interesting process as building a boat )))

I am gradually returning to life and now thinking about how to continue my work.
There's a lot of work to be done with fiberglass, but I'm not ready for it yet. I think I'll start regaining my skills with the rudder, for example.
I'm also thinking about heating the garage. Last winter's experience was interesting, but expensive. I didn't expect to have to work in the garage for another winter, so I didn't pay attention to insulating it.
Now we have good weather in my region, we call this time “golden autumn”. The forest plays with different colors - green, yellow, red and the temperature during the day is approximately 17-20 Celsius, 4-8 at night. Nice time for walking and relaxing.

Hello, builders!
Thanks to the forum administrators that I can chat here again.
I'm slowly waking up after a winter nap. January 2024 was the two-year anniversary of the construction of my Pocketship. Unfortunately, I can't boast of much progress since last summer.
I'm almost done with the rudder now. In the photo, it is partially sanded.
I also tried another version of epoxy resin - a more liquid one, so that it would be more convenient to impregnate fiberglass. For some reason, this solution turns out to be very dark and the finished product gave me the idea of a "Black Pearl"

I also bought a new animal for my zoo - a circular saw Metabo TKHS 315C. This is a good option - slightly used, but fully functional and for half price of a new one. I'm tired of going to friends with a request to cut the rail, now I will have my own tool.
