Dropboard storage

Last fall I got my boat into sailing condition and got some good outings. She’s back in ‘dry dock’ now for a final fitting out of all the niceties.

One thing that I didn’t like last fall was having no good place to put the dropboards. I finally figured out they fit nicely along side the centerboard case. So I printed some small pieces to hold them in place:

Hm... I had the same idea but the edges stick out into the cabin below the opening. Consequently, I dropped this idea as I am afraid of s.o getting injured. I still have no solution (but we are still building).

Yes, it does. I haven’t ‘field tested’ this yet, so I might find it to be a problem. The other option I was thinking about was inside, under the cockpit seats. That would take more design thought.
What have others done?

I just stick them in the cabin, along one side, with the bottom edges supported by the outer edge of the floorboards.
