Bow Eye install 2

I've drill the holes for the bow eye and it fits pretty well, except it's not flat against the hull. I'm considering to either -

1. Bend the washer to fit

2. Cut into the hull and make a flat base for it to sit in.

I will remove this when I glass thebottom

What do you think?

When you prepare to glass the bottom, you will round down that joint A LOT.
The issue you are concerned about will mostly go away.

when at the same stage, I took some fairly thick epoxy mix and roughly molded a platform around the two holes. I then used a sander to make a flat for the washers and shaped the rest to nicely blend the into the hull lines. I am happy with the results.

I put two bolts wrapped in plastic sheet in the holes to prevent them from being contaminated.

The method worked for me.
