During the last sail, one of us stepped onto the bridge deck when returning from the foredeck and we heard a noise of splitting wood. A quick inspection yielded a crack in the cleat below the bridge deck on the port side (first photo). It is interesting to note, that the cleat did NOT pop away from the deck but the cleat itself split; this can clearly be seen on the second photo which was taken just before glueing the cleat with thickened epoxy today. The deck itself is undamaged.
As both of us weigh below 75 kg and it was certainly NOT a jump down from the cabin deck, I decided to enforce that area. After some pros and cons we opted for a pair of cleats similar to bulkhead #7 (third photo).
