I previously posted that I wanted to install an anchor locker in the space between the Bow and BH1. To maintain the area as buoyancy I built a locker that was completely sealed when closed. I also installed a round inspection hatch in the base of the locker to provide access to the bow eye. When opening the hatch lid, it needed to fit between the breasthook and the bowsprit. The locker fits a sand anchor, 15 foot of chain and plenty of rope. I used stainless steel hinges and a barrel bolt to secure the lid to the foredeck. Using left over scrap I glued a small anchor plaque to the lid. The end result of the locker provided good storage for a small anchor without compromising buoyancy.
Check out the blog for more details and pics.
Cheers Terry from down under.
