I am always grateful of the pictures of the ideas for pockeships I find on this forum. I have stolen my share . Trying to give back a little I am posting mine.
It seems every time I take a passenger out on the pocketship he or she immediately wants to sit in the companionway facing forward. It is a good place to sit for the passenger. The view is nice but not comfort, not so much. Other pocketship guys have found out the same thing and come up with their own ideas of a seat and or step.
After a lot of head scratching, I have built a prototype of my idea of companionway seat. The criteria I had was something light, easy to store, strong and made of scraps that I had left over from the build. Originally I wanted to incorporate drink holders, something I can still do, but I am already up to six now.
This is what I came up with. It feels solid, unobtrusive, small, easy to install and uninstall and best of all is a lot more comfortable than sitting on an edge of plywood!
